What do I need to know about the corona vaccine?

In advance of vaccination
There is currently limited access to vaccines, and prioritisation is done by the government on the advice of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. Contact your GP for more information and/or an assessment of whether you are in a risk group.
When it's your turn, your GP or municipality will contact you. When you register for the vaccine, provide a phone number that you or someone you know will answer if you call or text from an unknown number.
You will receive the vaccine that is available at your vaccination centre.

Vaccination day
Remember to bring photo ID.

The vaccine is administered with a syringe in the upper arm, so wear clothes that are easy to put on and take off. After vaccination, you will be asked to wait at the vaccination site for at least 20 minutes so that you can be followed up if you have any kind of reaction.

If you experience unexpected, severe or prolonged symptoms that you think are caused by the vaccine, you should contact your doctor or other healthcare professional for assessment and advice.

You do not need to turn up for vaccination if you are vaccinated on the day of vaccination:
- have cold symptoms, fever above 38 °C or other signs of an infectious disease
- are in quarantine or awaiting corona test results
- have been vaccinated with another vaccine within the last seven days
- it has been less than three weeks since you finished the isolation period after corona disease (covid-19)
- is pregnant without belonging to a risk group for severe corona disease

If you need to postpone the vaccination, notify the vaccination centre. The vaccination will then be postponed.
