In 2024, a new themed course has been set up with the title "We, society and systems". The deadline to apply is already 1 November.
Here you can get to know the lecturers better, and read more about what this course will contain.
Magne
Magne Bolme is from Rindal, but lives in Vasser near Tjøme. In the New Year he will be moving to Bergen to live with Sølvi Marie Risøy.
Magne has a degree in History and he writes sports history updates for Store Norske leksikon online, including on para-sport. He has previously been active in interest politics, and led the organisation Visually Impaired Academics for many years.
In his spare time, Magne enjoys exercising, listening to music and playing chess. He is often accompanied by his guide dog Obama, who is 5 years old.
Sølvi Marie
Sølvi Marie Risøy is 50 years old and from Sotra outside Bergen. In 2010, she graduated with a PhD in politics and administration. She is now in a reduced position while receiving rehabilitation at Eikholt and adult education in Bergen municipality.
Sølvi Marie has extensive experience as a lobbyist, and she has had to fight hard to achieve the right to BPA and training in the municipality. She also has a lot of experience as a user representative.
In her spare time, Sølvi Marie enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and is passionate about design and interiors.
Together, Magne and Sølvi Marie have the podcast series iBlind which you can find where you find your podcasts.

About Theme course C
Magne and Sølvi Marie are the lecturers for the two-part Theme Course C, entitled "We, society and systems".
They are based on conversations about who we are as people with disabilities, how we understand ourselves and how we are understood by society. Does it make a difference whether we are disabled, have impairments or are disabled? What is structural discrimination? And do we encounter it in our everyday lives?
Once the lecturers and course participants have figured this out, they will discuss the various political levels, administrative bodies and administrative levels that we encounter. Whether it's a municipality, county council, state administrator, NAV or other. How does it work? And how are we influenced by - and can we influence them?
There will be an exchange of experiences about meetings with various organisations. What rights do we have when dealing with public authorities? How can we get our views and needs across?
If we can better understand how our society works, we can more easily navigate it, more easily gain influence over society and over our own situation, and thus take our rightful place as full members of society.
