Nature Sculpture. A course for young people and adults with congenital deafblindness.

Neither the participants with deafblindness nor their companions need prior knowledge. Guidance is provided by experienced artists and practitioners who know how to handle materials and tools and who are safe and pleasant to be around.

The course includes sculpting in natural materials such as stone, iron, wood and wool.

The aim is to create an arena where people with congenital deafblindness can develop their creative and intellectual potential. Through co-operation, communication, language and mastery are developed in meaningful activities.

For companions/employees, it is an exciting and different arena for exchanging knowledge and experience in a social setting with culture and artistic activity. A focus on and practice in NMT (Norwegian with sign language support) and hours of professional input make the week a developing practice for them too.

The course is held in week 34/35 (28 August to 1 September). The registration deadline is 1 May.

Contact persons for the course are Kari Schjøll Brede (kari.s.brede@eikholt.no) and Aashild Klopan (aashild.klopan@eikholt.no).
