Fereshteh and Romy bring new knowledge and experience to Eikholt

Fereshteh Halimi is 45 years old and lives in Åssiden in Drammen. She is from Tehran, and has lived in Drammen since 2011. She is educated in economics, human rights, pedagogy and visual pedagogy.

Previously, she has worked both as a teacher and a researcher, and she has been a vision educator for the past 10 years. At Eikholt, you will meet Fereshteh as a counsellor in both vision education and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Fereshteh has extensive educational experience, both from adult education and primary school, a useful background in meeting everyone who comes to Eikholt. She looks forward to collaborating with colleagues in an interdisciplinary team, learning from skilled colleagues and contributing to the team.

Romy Regina Prochnow is 39 years old. In recent years, she has worked as a counsellor in the field of acquired deafblindness. In 2021, she completed her master's degree in visual education and visual rehabilitation. Her master's thesis is about how to use gaze in interaction with students with Down Syndrome and sensory challenges.

Romy is also a trained Inclusive Education Pedagogue, Art Therapist and Yoga Teacher, and specialises in psychomotor skills.

Communication and interaction are some of the areas Romy is interested in. Mapping preferences and resources, as well as how the conditions of communication can be facilitated to the optimum is important.
