A more inclusive world with Haptic communication

On the 6th and 7th of November we had the pleasure of participating in the symposium "Haptics for Inclusion" at the University of Borås. Eikholt was represented at this international symposium where researchers and experts from 16 countries met to share knowledge and ideas. Rolf Lund, Fereshteh Halimi, and Kari Jokstad from Eikholt participated, together with Hildebjørg Bjørge from Hapti-Co.

On the first day, Eikholt and current projects we are working on were presented. We also listened to presentations from other institutions from Europe and the USA, with opportunities for knowledge exchange afterwards.
On day two there were workshops where participants could test haptic technology prototypes and discuss how technology can contribute to inclusion and accessibility. There was time to test new technologies, exchange insights, network, showcase prototypes, try haptic technologies, and experience art installations.
We made new contacts and strengthened old ones. Many people showed interest in visiting Eikholt to see how we work with development and innovation. In the future, there will be exciting dialogue with more research environments, perhaps even research collaborations!
Over the course of two days, we were able to participate in research, share knowledge, test prototypes, and experience multisensory art installations. The main goal of the symposium was to create a meeting place where researchers in the field of haptic communication, accessibility, and participation, together with users with different experiences and other interested parties, could meet. The aim was to explore the potential for collaboration with colleagues from many countries, with a common goal of creating a more inclusive world.

Thank you to the University of Borås for a unique event! Unique for us, because everything was relevant to our target group.
